Brian Pottieger named VP of Business DevelopmentCharleston, S.C. (October 24, 2007) –Southland Landscape Corporation announces the promotion of Brian Pottieger to Vice President of Business Development. His duties will include overseeing sales and marketing for Southland along with helping the company continue its growth into new markets throughout South Carolina.
As the leader of Southland’s business development unit, Pottieger will be prospecting companies throughout the state in an effort to further expand the company’s reach into markets it does not currently serve. With offices located in Charleston, Columbia and Spartanburg Southland has the ability to operate in cities across the state.
Pottieger joined Southland in 1996 upon completion of his Associates Degree in Business Management from Frederick Community College in Frederick, Md. Originally hired as a Human Resources Manager he most recently the held the position of Director of Business Development for Southland’s Eastern South Carolina Operations.
Pottieger is married to Helen, his wife of eight years and has three children: daughter Hannah, 5 and sons Roan, 2 and Rylan 2 months. He resides in Mount Pleasant, SC.

Southland lends a helping handCHARLESTON, S.C. (October 18, 2007) – Southland spent Saturday, Oct. 13 landscaping a new home in North Charleston as part of the “Gate House” project. The project is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Rehabilitation and has provided funding for the project with the help of the City of North Charleston.
Southland provided landscaping services to the property at 2622 Bennett Yard Road with the help of 13 volunteers and donations of supplies from Green Acres Turf Farm, Lowcountry Nursery and Carolina Pinestraw. The students of Garret Academy framed the house and other local businesses donated labor and materials to help complete the house.
This is the fourth house that Southland and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Rehabilitation have worked together on. Dedication of the new home is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 29 at 10 a.m.
