Southland President Receives BSCAIs Highest HonorCharleston, S.C. (March 20, 2008) – The Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI) has honored long-time volunteer, Donald Pottieger, Sr., CBSE with the prestigious James E. Purcell Award at the 2009 BSCAI Annual Convention & Trade Show, March 8 in Chicago.
Pottieger got his start in the industry in 1986 when he began a small joint family venture. He has since grown, diversified and developed his business, and today is President of Southland Landscape Corporation, headquartered in Charleston, S.C. Pottieger who joined BSCAI in 1990, received his Certified Building Service Executive (CBSE) designation in 1996 and served on the BSCAI Board of Directors from 2000-2007. An established leader in the association and the industry, Pottieger has served on numerous committees, championed valuable initiatives and served as BSCAI President in 2006.
The James E. Purcell award, presented each year by BSCAI, is given in recognition of long-time service to the association and the building service contracting industry.
