FMI changes name of landscape operations to Southland Landscape Corporation
Georgia Operations opens brand new state-of-the-art office in Byron, GA.
FMI Services Group merges with St. Moritz Building Services, removing Southland from the janitorial business and giving us the ability to put all of our focus on growing our landscape management services. This was the second and final phase of a one-year planned merger between the two company’s operations.
Southland purchases Twin Rivers Lawncare & Landscaping, Inc. of Columbia, SC. Twin Rivers joins Southland’s Western South Carolina Operations team.
Southland sold its Macon branch to Don Pottieger, Jr. and now operates under the name of Grounds Control Landscape Management, Inc.

FMI sold its Mid Atlantic operations to St. Moritz Building Services as the first phase of a two phase planned one-year merger between the two company’s operations.
FMI purchases Shurburtt Corporation establishing Western South Carolina Operations.
FMI purchases Bass Custom Landscapes in Macon, GA establishing Georgia Operations.
Don Pottieger, Sr. named President of the Building Service Contractors Association International, presiding over 2,000 member companies in the building and services industry.

FMI officers unanimously vote to relocate the corporate headquarters from Frederick, MD to Charleston, SC. This process included the construction of a new state-of-the-art headquarters building situated on six acres.

Facilities Maintenance, Inc. change their name to FMI Services Group to accommodate their rapidly expanding services and clients.
FMI expands its offerings by venturing into landscape management and parking lot maintenance.

P & L Cleaning Systems, Inc. changes its name to Facilities Maintenance, Inc.
Howard and Ibby Levine sell their stock to the Pottiegers.
Don Pottieger, Jr. and Brian Pottieger join the company as corporate officers.
FMI puts all of its focus on commercial and industrial sectors after selling the route window cleaning, residential maid services and residential special services sectors of the company.

Don and Margaret Pottieger along with long time friends Howard and Ibby Levine found P&L Cleaning Systems, Inc., a small residential and commercial cleaning company with operations in the greater Frederick, MD area.
